DIY  Framing kits for Steel Buildings and Garages:

  • Architectural Drawings : structural and foundation plans (stamped for your jurisdiction if applicable)
  • Steel Roofing Panels (charges apply for color)
  • Steel Siding Panels (charges apply for color)
  • Overhead door, man door, and window openings framed out ready for your windows and doors – Windows & doors not included but available for purchase, pricing based on size, style, color, etc – Kit comes with headers/lintel framing ready for assembly and installation of your own doors & windows
  • Post & Beam Framing
  • Post saddles for install when you pour your concrete footings
  • Rafters – Trusses (as applicable)
  • Wall Girts
  • Roof Purlins
  • Eve Purlin
  • Kelly screws, strapping, brackets, post saddles.

OSB sheathing may also be added to other kits such as garage, stable, steel building at additional cost. All standard items are as per Vendor specifications – any customized items will incur additional charges.

Framing kits for sheds resemble the above, however they do not include stamped engineered drawings as they are considered portable temp structures. Some Steel Buildings and Garages may not require them either.

 

DIY HOME Framing Kits include the following:

  1. Complete Architectural and Structural Drawings stamped by Licensed Engineer with structural certification of the drawings and design
  2. Assembly drawings for the wall panels and trusses
  3. Galvanized Steel Stud wall framing for all interior and exterior walls as shown on plans including:
    • Door jambs and headers.
    • Window jambs, headers, and sills.
    • Diagonal bracing (if required) is part-marked, pre-cut for required wall panels
    • An assembly diagram for each wall section identifying the location of each part-marked component in the section assembly.
    • All self-drilling screws, and angle clips required for assembly of the building frame.
  4. Galvanized Steel Stud Roof framing (if used and included in sales order)
    • Steel Roof Truss or rafter System as one or more sections ready for final assembly onsite by client.
    • Blocking is part-marked, and pre-cut for easy assembly between rafters onsite by client
    • The roof framing is divided into sections, part-marked, and packaged individually for assembly and easy handling.
    • An assembly diagram for each roof section identifying the location of each part-marked component in the section assembly.
    • All self-drilling screws, and angle clips required for assembly of the building frame.
  5. Galvanized Roof Trusses (if used and included in sales order)
    • Steel Roof Truss or rafter System as one or more sections ready for final assembly onsite by client.
    • Each truss is individually packaged and part-marked.
    • An assembly diagram for each truss identifying the location of each par-marked component in the section assembly.
    • All bolts, nuts, attachment clip, self-drilling screws, and bracing required for assembly of the building frame.

Optional materials you can order: OSB, Metal Roofing, Siding, and Floor Joist Kits available (optional and additional costs where applicable if added to order):

  • Roofing 29 gauge 24″ to 36″‘ wide panel
  • Walls 29 gauge 24″ to 36″‘ wide panel
  • Standard Vinyl Siding or Board and Batten, price varies based on choice and color
  • All self-drilling fasteners, to complete the building.

  11. Though these are sold as DIY (Do It Yourself) kits, you will most likely will be required to use licensed trades in your municipality for  excavation, engineering, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and septic/sewer connections. Check with your local building/permitting department before purchasing any plans and or kits.

Shipping of Framing Kits is FREE within Continental North America if the delivery location is within 25mi (40km) of a Home Depot Building Center (this is for standard sizes, custom designs may incur fees). However, offloading is not included as part of shipping.

Ask about required site preparation required. The site should be cleared of all obstructions (boulders, trees, power lines, etc.,) which may affect the ability of the tractor trailer/transporter or crane to have access to and maneuver around the foundation location.
